2019 Local Projects (Sanya is Community Action Partnership Agency’s Youth Ambassador also so most local projects are to support CAP Agency projects).
Dates/Months are subject to change based on community collaboration. Projects will be accomplished but implementation dates could change.
January – Planning sessions for the entire year.
February– FMSC Packing Event Preparation and Fundraising Preparation.
March– FMSC Packing Event: March 29th, 2019. 130 volunteers needed to pack with us. See the link on our webpage to sign up or see the donate link. Fundraising Goal for this project is $1,000 – $35,000 ($35,000 is total goal). We have $1,000 matching if we could fundraise $1,000.
March– Planning Phase for sewing teaching session (teaching children how to sew so they can help makes bags for homeless children). April– teaching sessions will be for our SHFC team members only (Sara, Andrea, and Emily). The fundraising goal for this project is $2,000.
March/ April – Book Drive: Collecting gently used books to be donated to “Books For Africa”. Fundraising Goal for this project is 10,000 books (SHFC and HOMS collaboration).
April– Implementation Phase: Sewing teaching session (teaching children how to sew so they can help makes bags for homeless children).
April– Food Drive/End of Food Drive Event Preparation.
May– Recruiting sewing volunteers to sew with us (teaching children how to sew so they can help makes bags for homeless children).
May- Cereal Box Drive-May 20th – May 24th at Hidden Oaks Middle School.

June– HOMS End of the Year Celebration/Activity Afternoon: Fundraising for HOMS in collaboration with HOMS Student Council (SHFC will provide fundraising items like T-shirt, SHFC bags, Compassion Jars, SHFC bookmarks- 100% money will go to HOMS).
June-July -Food Drive (preparation for school closing) Fundraising Goal for this project is $1, 000 ($1 BUYS $24 WORTH OF FOOD).
June-July-August -Implementation Phase: Sewing teaching session (teaching children how to sew so they can help makes bags for homeless children).
August – Winter Wear Drive (hats, scarves, blankets, jackets, and mittens for homeless children) Fundraising Goal for this project is $1,000.
August-September –Socks and Underwear Drive for Community Connect and delivering all winter donations.
August -September– School Supplies Drive (Christmas Bag project), the Fundraising goal for the entire Christmas Bag project includes school supplies, books, and Christmas toys for this project is $15,000.
September– Volunteering for Community Connect and delivering all winter donations.
October– WE Scare Hunger Food Drive (SHFC and HOMS collaboration).
October– CROP Hunger Walk: Fundraising Goal is $1000.
November– Toy drive to prepare for Christmas Bag Event to help 500 homeless children (SHFC and HOMS collaboration).
November– Hope for the Holiday: Fundraising to adopt families to buy Christmas gifts, Fundraising Goal for this project is $1,000 to 2,000.
November– Christmas Bag Packing Event (volunteers will pack 500 school bags with school supplies, a book, and a toy for homeless children).
December– Christmas Bag Project: We understand Student Council or other volunteer groups as a team can not/may not come to an individual houses to pack Christmas bags, but they can sign up as individuals.
Global Projects:
- I wish to send at least 10 children to school in Africa. How- Wish to collaborate with Book For Africa to find a school as well as to adopt libraries for children.
- Continue Feeding Haitian village with FMSC ($56,210 project).
- Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) Sanya’s Hope For Children feeding 700 Haitian for one year that is $56,210 project
